Hampton Road Updates

And a Design Chat with Lead Designer Dorothy Durbin

Property Improvement Enterprises had a chat with their lead designer Dorothy Durbin to learn more about her design style and the exciting updates happening at Hampton Road. Dorothy has been working hard alongside our team to turn this Hampton Road house into a Hampton Road dream home.

But first, a little background on our designer Dorothy Durbin. Dorothy has spent the last 10 years honing her design skills and building strong relationships in the design world. She’s been featured in Home & Design Magazine as a leader in design and is known by her clients for bringing true character and style into their home. Dorothy received her bachelor’s in Interior Design and took her career to the next level by starting her own design business. All of this to say, we’re incredibly lucky to work with Dorothy.

Now, for the updates at Hampton Road. The kitchen has been updated with grey granite countertops and a brand-new sink. The black iron finishes throughout the house are some of the grandest features. Over the dining room table, Dorothy has decided to place a black iron fixture that beautifully compliments the updated colonial style of the home. Using that same inspiration, the exterior of the home will have black angled lantern-style fixtures added soon.

Perhaps one of the most exciting updates is the basement with its wet bar and beverage fridge -- perfect for entertaining large groups and family gatherings. The basement also features a gorgeous 40-inch vanity and plenty of space for a workout room and large media area.

When I asked Dorothy how she gets inspired, she said that she sees spaces like a photograph. For Dorothy, everything appears 3-D in her mind, which is likely why she’s so gifted at design. She said, “I like to call myself a visual storyteller.” And when it comes to the story of Hampton Road, Dorothy wants everyone that comes inside to feel like they are on vacation.

Hampton Road is a home that gives the gift of space. Stand in the kitchen with its high-beam ceilings and you’ll feel like any meal...anything...is possible for you and your family. In the living room, you’ll fill with gratitude as you peep the sweeping views of the home’s large backyard and greenspace.

I asked Dorothy to describe Hampton Road in three words. She said, “Classic, modern, sunlit.”

And I don’t think I could agree more. This classic, modern, sunlit property is waiting for the perfect family to move-in and call it home.

Stay tuned for more updates on Hampton Road and all the other Property Improvement Enterprises properties.

“It’s all in the details.”
