EV READY HOMES

Property Improvement Enterprises’ mission is to redevelop properties making them smarter and more sustainable. The use of EVs (electrical vehicles) has a positive impact on society and our planet because it reduces air pollution and greenhouse gases emissions, which seriously affect the environment and human health. The difference in emissions between using a gasoline car and an EV is considerable, and will only grow larger with time. It is estimated that by 2030, EVs will emit less than a third of the greenhouse gases that gasoline cars emit per mile (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 2021). The problem that many EV owners face when looking for a home is the fact that houses with the electrical capacity and pre-wiring to install an EV charging station are hard to find. Access to a charging station at home is essential for EV users since 80% of charging usually happens at the user’s house (Plug-in NC, 2016). This struggle is a major challenge for the switch towards EVs because it often disincentivizes the use of EVs altogether (Frommer, 2018).

EV-Ready houses foment the use of cars that don’t need gasoline. “EV-Ready” simply means that the house is equipped with the panels, outlets, and conduits with the capacity to charge an EV overnight. An advantage of buying an EV-Ready house is that it costs significantly less to include these enhancements in the building process than to figure out how to fit them in later (Coren, 2020). For this reason, Property Improvement Enterprises is invested in tackling the issue of EV charging infrastructure. We are doing this by providing homeowners the chance to have the vehicle of their choice without going through the expensive complications of adapting their home to fit the needs of their EV. Like you, we value highly planning for a sustainable future, so we started adapting our houses to allow the use of the innovative technologies that take us closer to it.

Property Improvement Enterprises also cares about making the houses we build as conveniently equipped and well rounded as possible for our customers. The EV-Ready houses that we are building allow homeowners to charge their electric vehicles in their garages overnight. This is another major advantage because it ensures that the vehicle will be ready to use in the morning while providing the safety and comfort of the home. Some customers may be hesitant about the amount of electricity needed to charge an EV, but in reality this is not a reason for concern since the amount of energy used is similar to air conditioners or drying machines (Plug-in NC, 2016). We encourage you to take a look at our EV-Ready project if you are an EV owner or are considering buying one, it really is a step towards the future!
